So excited to announce that Explorer: The Lost Islands has finally been released! Such a fun anthology to work on and such incredible storytellers to work with! It truly was an amazing experience, and I'm so glad to have been a part of it. My 18 page comic is called The Mask Dance. Be sure to pick up a copy at your local bookstore or comic shop and let me know what you think!
Here's a sneak preview:
This is the first publication of one of my very own stories. I'm super nervous and excited all at the same time!! TYPING IN ALL CAPS WILL NOT ACCURATELY EXPRESS MY FEELS.
Just wanted to announce the debut of my brand new etsy shop, LadyGarlandArt! It's been a long time coming, so I'm super excited (and a little nervous) to see it up and running. I'll be selling all sorts of prints, so please stop by!
Also, from now until October 8th, we'll be offering free shipping. So if you see something you like, be sure to use the "GRANDOPENING" coupon code!
None of this would have been possible without my very good friend, Casey Robin, who helped guide me through...well, everything. She's a fabulous artist and doll reviewer to boot, so be sure to check out her work!
In the past, selling prints has always been something I wanted, but was too scared to do. Seems a bit fitting that the shop opens in October. XD
Oh GLOB! It was so hard biting my tongue, but I finally got the "okay". This was my variant cover for the fifth issue of Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake. I actually finished the cover a while back, but having had no idea about what the turn around time was, assumed it wouldn't be published anytime soon. Just as I began to wonder if this whole experience was some sweet, elaborate dream I burnt cooked up, this arrived in the mail today...
Working on this cover was an absolute blast and the comic is hysterical. I get the bubbly schoolgirl bubblies whenever I pick up an issue. Be sure to check them all out at KaBOOM!
Side Note: this song has been stuck in my head all day. ENJOY.
I love how my last entry promised a detailed update on my life...soon. Apparently, my definition of "soon" is anything, but. Sorry about that.
For the last few months I've been hermiting it up hardcore working on several projects that, unfortunately, I can't talk about just yet. I'm really excited about all of them, so I'll definitely post more updates once I get the go ahead. (promise!) It's a little strange not having a lot of free time to work on personal projects, but I guess I should revel in the mass chaos while I can.
Hopefully, the fine art of balancing work and play will come to me later.
(NOTE: The Daily Doodles are still going strong, so feel free to check out my tumblr!)
SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT NOTE: I've completely exhausted my music playlists! Feel free to leave a comment with your current favorite song and I'll be happy to take a listen. XD
Wow! A lot has happened since I last posted. I've moved cross country, got a new job, and experienced a real snow fall. So far 2013 has been a total blast. Gotta run for now, but I'll be sure to write a more in depth post about my adventures soon!
In the meantime...enjoy some creepy cats. I'm thinking about adopting one, but I've only owned dogs in the past. Any advice?
