Sketch Dump

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a week since I've posted! Sorry about that...guess the summer laziness is getting the best of me. But no more!

I come bearing gifts of sketches and...what not. Ha.

These are just a bunch of doodles I did during my sophmore year at SCAD. Man, it seems like so long ago. I think my art style has changed so much over the course of one year... it's ridiculous!

Still not so sure where the barfing rainbows came from...

Other than that, nothing too much has been going on this summer.

Except that I found my old Game Boooooooy!!! It was buried somewhere deep in the back of my closet. This was the very first Game Boy I had ever owned! I remember getting it for Christmas and being soooo excited because my parents both swore that they would never buy me one. (Y'know, the whole "video games rotting kids' brains" thing...)

Anyway, not only did I find my Game Boy still in perfect condition, but I also found all of my old games!!

Let the epic adventures begin! This time around, I'm going all out!! Me and my Chikorita are going to be so hardcore, it'll be ridiculous. No more wandering around for hours in dark caves trying to fight off every stupid Zubat and Rattata. No more tip toeing in fear around every lame trainer hiding in the tall grasses with 6 level 4 Caterpies. No more running to the Pokemon Center for heals every five minutes. No more trash talking from lame rivals with ridiculous hair cuts!

You want a battle?

I'll knock you out in five minutes flat and still have time to send my winnings home to MOM.

Alright. So after countless of hours of work and many sleepless nights put into finishing my animatic/storyboards for my senior film...I want to change it. As of right now, I don't think that I want to run with a completely different story. If possible, I would like to just spend the extra time and effort in revamping my art direction, timing, and plot points so that I can make this film as strong as possible.

In order to do this, I would really appreciate it if all you readers would critique my animatic! Tell me what you like and dislike, what feels really awkward to you, and what should be thrown out completely. The more honest your opinions are, the more I can work on improving my film!

If anything, I would like most of the focus to be on the ending. I pretty much threw it together during finals week, but looking back on it now...I'm not too happy with it. What do you think would make a better ending? OR do you like it the way it is? Am I just overthinking this too much??

You guys are so great! I can't wait to hear what you all have to say!

This guy's pitch book was one of the leading examples in my concept development class!

I loooove the final outcome! Seeing the final project really makes me want to get going on my own senior film!

Gotta stay strong and determined! XD

Nothing says "summer" like giant octopus hats!! I know, I know, there are only seven limbs...I'd like to think that one of them is just conveniently hidden somewhere, OR that it got cut off in the fashioning of the hat. Oh yeah.

This picture was so much fun to paint! I think I'm really starting to get a hang of this whole digital painting thing. Though the character was completely random, I really want to draw more of her!

My latest Facebook obsession! This game is so cute it's ridiculous! I love the whole idea of opening and customizing your own restaurant, staff, and menu. As you can see, my building still needs a looooot of work. Once I save up enough money, I want to turn it into the most adorable sweetery EVER!!

Sooo, here's the interior of my little dreamery. I just opened shop a few days ago and I've already got WAY too many customers than I can house! I really can't wait to level up so that I can hire another waiter...and finally get some decent floor tiling in there. Ha ha!

That's it for now. I'm finally back home from SCAD and am completely ready to lounge about and eat potato chips for the rest of the summer.
