Two Down, One To Go!

Just finished my pitch book early today. I only need to wait up for a few more hours before I can camp out in front of Kinko's and get it all printed out. Hopefully, there won't be a super long wait at 7:30 am. I'm counting on my fellow students' to pass out until at least 9:30. Heh Heh.

Also managed to finish my World Mythology final. We had to take one of the myths we learned about and create something that related to our major. I decided to create a tenth muse named Anima, the goddess of all movements and animation. (If you can't tell already.) Apparently, "Anima" is the Latin root for "animation", meaning "soul" or "spirit". The Greek equivalent of that is "Psyche", but she already has her own story going on with Cupid/Eros. I don't want to get in the middle of that. ha ha.

Anyway, not too much else to say at the moment. I haven't slept for two days and am going to be pulling my third all nighter soon.

This week is going to be awesome.

Tick Tock

Sorry, for the lack of posts lately! I'm knee deep in finals right now, so all my concentration has been going towards my concept class.

BUT! I don't write to you empty handed! Here's a look at what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks! This is my cast of characters for my senior film! Though it looks like I'll be animating an entire family... I'm really not. Thank God. My film (which has yet to be named) is actually about a couple and their journey through life. They meet as children, get separated as adults, and then find each other again when they are old.

...Yep.

This is an art direction piece I created in Photoshop. I had a lot of fun playing with textures and all of the different brushes. The backgrounds are all going to be cut-outs that will be animated in after effects, while the actual people will be traditionally animated. I can't wait to experiment more with the look of this film over the summer!

Another art direction piece.

Some expression studies of our unnamed leading lady. I've been asking a lot of people what her name should be, and the general consensus is "Amelia" or "Amelee" or "Fernarginarnarrrrr...". I like the last one best. XD

What do you think her name should be? I've already decided that her boyfriend's name is "Dorian" (Doryan, Doriian, Doreeeean??), so something to compliment that.

In the meantime, I'll be working on finishing up my storyboards and animatic for finals. Looks like it might be another all nighter tonight!

...

Yaaaaaay.

Impaled Pinata

Yeahhh...not too sure what I was thinking when I created this. If you can't tell already, it's a Congratulatory card for all of our Model Fiesta winners! The event was a huge success, by the way! There were so many people, that we could hardly seat everyone in the student center.

Unfortunately, I still haven't replaced my old camera, so I have no pictures to show you all. I'm planning on bothering the other officers soon enough though, so hopefully, I'll be able to show you some of the amazing outfits that the other models were wearing!

I just got back from Kinko's today with my brand new business cards! Man, I never knew this whole process could be such a hassle! I had to throw together this card in a rush because I'm going on a field trip tomorrow, but of course, it took a liiitle while longer because I'm so bloody anal about everything. Anyway, I run down to Kinko's print a few of these babies out, and what do I see?

ladygarland@blogspot.com!!!!

Not sure if you all know this, but that is totally not my e-mail or website URL. Not to mention, the color was super dark. (Apparently, the printers there print a lot darker than need be, and you can't adjust it on site.) Soo, I had to run back home, fix the typo, fix the coloring (an educated guess at best), and sprint back to Kinko's before they closed.

This time around, I added the back design on. It didn't line up completely with the front design, and the color was still a little dark, but it'll do for now. Does anyone know how to make sure the color on your monitor matches the printer quality on paper?

OH YEAH! Did you know Kinko's gives discounts to SCAD students!? I just found out today! Apparently, they aren't allowed to tell you because the higher ups frown on that kind of stuff. Anyway, I totally made sure to get my discount today. **is proud of herself**

Oh well. That's it for now...Going on a field trip tomorrow! Super excited! Will talk about it later.

....

Maybe.
