Miss Josephine

The final two! I'm so glad you all liked the "soda pop" header! I really like it too, but then I was looking at some Juicy Couture ads, and I wanted to try to make a circus-ey kind of theme. I really like them both, it's too bad you can't have two titles.


I'm also finding myself getting really into 1920's cabaret kind of stuff. I love rusty color schemes and thigh highs! I've also rediscovered my love for Josephine Baker and her amazing banana dance! Did you know I had to dress up as her for an elementary school project? My mother had to make the banana skirt and everything! (I wore a nude-colored leotard so I was covered up. xP) Man, I wish I had a picture to show. Oh well.



Oh yeah. I have no idea who this girl is, but I like her rendition of Josephine's dance. She's very pale, but spunky? Ha ha!

Or is it "banners"? I'm pretty sure banners is the proper term, but I'm not sure. I'm not hip to the jive with the internet lingo these days. Ha ha!

Anyways, here's a few drafts I've been working on for the blog. Hopefully, the finally design will translate nicely over to my business card and website...so here's hoping!

Also, please note the crack. There's a lot of it. So far, my favorites are the lipstick banner and the first "soda pop" banner...mostly because it's pink. However, I still really want to jam some artwork in the final banner somewhere. I managed to do it in a few, but I'm not feeling the puce green color scheme. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

By the by, the new term just started! I'm super excited because I'm finally taking Concept! It's a little scary too because my ideas will have to translate nicely into my senior film, so I want to come up with a really interesting concept! Especially after I bashed Sita Sings the Blues in class, like an uppity douche bag. Now, I've got to back up all my hardcore critiquing and produce something epic. Ha ha ha!

Fresh Start

Apparently, there was some strange glitch going on with my previous blog. Although my settings allowed comments, no one could get through. So, instead of trying to fiddle with it, I just decided to scrap the entire thing and try again with a "completely" new blog.

Don't worry, Lady Garland's is still basically the same place. I will still be completing Fairytale 100 and there will still be sketches posted as often as I can. The only real overhaul is, obviously, the layout. If you ask me, I think the old one was responsible for my technological problems anyway. Leave it to me to discover the problems that no one can fix. Ha ha!

Anyway, it's a new blog, a new term, and a new me. Here's a crappy little number to kick this thing off.
